Enablers - Bush and the MSM
Since the day GW Bush took office I have whined, yes whined, that the mainstream media has treated Bush as if they were a co-dependent alcoholic spouse, enabling his decisions and behavior by excusing it or covering it up. The mainstream media (MSM) has a lot to answer to and Hoyt Purvis gives us a brief summary of the definition of enabling and its consequences.      “We have paid a heavy price for the lack of due diligence by much of the mainstream media and by Congress in the period leading up to the war in Iraq. The failure to examine seriously the claims made by the Bush administration for going to war constituted a major breakdown in our system of formal and informal checks and balances and in the watchdog role of the media and Congress and its relevant committees.”
