Public needs better notification of rule changes
What a novel idea! I was sitting in the middle of and intersection on a green light hoping to make a quick left turn when our daughter leans over and says hey “did you know it was against to law to sit out in the intersection”. Well no, nobody told me and I didn’t see any notification that the law had changed. I could of easily been ticketed. I would of been none too happy.
Sen. Randy Laverty, D-Jasper, said he has received numerous complaints over the years from constituents who said they learned of important changes in regulations only after the opportunity for public comment had passed. The senator said he is not working on any new legislation regarding notification, but he would like to see the issue addressed.
