Boozman - it’s hard work
Pathetic is the only word I can say for Boozman and this do nothing Congress. Immigration, healthcare, Iraq, civil rights, prescription drugs…do I need to go on? They did NOTHING these last 2 years, but here, they are working “hard” to get this through before the end of the year. I guess the religious “base” has to be thrown a bone occasionally, but the pandering of this bunch is simply pathetic and they ought to hang their heads in shame.
Anti-abortion Republicans will press this week for Congress to follow the lead of Arkansas and three other states that have passed bills requiring women to be told that fetuses feel pain.
Rep. John Boozman, R-Rogers, on Monday joined six other Republicans at a press conference promoting the bill to make abortion providers offer a brochure describing the chance of fetal pain to women who are more than 20 weeks pregnant and seeking an abortion.
Arkansas’ Unborn Child Pain Awareness and Prevention Act, adopted in 2005, requires doctors to provide patients with similar information at least 24 hours before an abortion procedure.
