Wesley Clark - one step closer

Clark/Obama ‘08 - yup that’s my dream team. Clark can win this in a landslide, even against McCain. And if the national Democratic Party can calm down the Obama hysteria, they’ll have their first African American President in 10 years, when the seasoned and experienced Vice President Barak Obama takes the White House in 2016.

Continuing the symbiotic relationship between book launches and White House bids, Palgrave Macmillan recently announced that it has acquired the rights to “American Son,” Gen. Wesley Clark’s next book and possible vehicle for a second presidential run.

“America’s Son,” which is slated for a fall 2007 release, promises to offer a “groundbreaking vision for America’s future” as well as a “personal account” of the military events that have shaped the world view of the four-star general who served as NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander.

I’ll third that nomination. If the Democratic Party could pull this off - we’d be looking at controlling the WH for the next 16 years - and it just might take that long to get this country out of the mess created by Bush in 6 short years.

Maybe we as a nation could redeem our international respect as a Christian and carrying nation and just maybe we can get our country on sound economic footings. This 9 trillion dollar debt and climbing, with no plan to reduce it give me little hope for our grandchildern’s having anything that resembles the life their folks and grandparents are living.

Hell, I’ll fourth that motion…

The next president and vp need to be ok with just serving one term. If they do all that is needed, they may not get a second one. At some point we have to start paying for what we use and stop stealing from future Americans.

No one will work harder for us as President than Wesley Clark. He would bring depth of experience, leadership ability, intelligence, and integrity to the job with no on-the-job training needed. He is a man of convictions, a strong patriot, is trusted and respected throughout the world and is known as a first class leader.

Clark/Obama sounds pretty much unbeatable.
I’ll fifth (and sixth, I just spoke to my sister about it) the nomination.
This is not just the best possible ticket the Democrats can put up in ‘08, it’s the best choice the Nation has to handle the problems created and the problems ignored by george bush & company.
I think Mr. Sand is exactly right regarding Sen. Obama, as the rap on him will be lack of experience. On the job training as V.P. will take care of that, and presto, we have hope for the future once again. This would be a testiment to the greatness of our Nation, that we could quickly put he dismal Bush years behind us. (Under 700 days now and counting ’till the ‘08 election!!)

There is no NO ONE that has the presidential presence nor is better qualified than Wes Clark. For now I’m glad he’s under the radar but at the right time he’ll make his presence known and the rest of the country will see what we Clarkies have known from the very beginning…..he is a “class act” all the way and is the only Democratic candidate that can bring dignity and respect back to the presidency.

ATTENTION GEORGE SAND

I HAVE BEEN TALKING ABOUT A CLARK-OBAMA TICKET SINCE THE PAST NOVEMBER ELECTION RESULTS. I RECENTLY E=MAILED CLARK’S WESPAC SITE SUGGESTING A CLARK-OBAMA TICKET AS A WINNER IN 08. LET’S SPREAD THE WORD!

Daniel,

Great news! I’ve talked to the Clark campaign as well. I suggest that if Clark wanted to take the wind out of Hillary’s sails, (don’t get me wrong, Hillary would make a great President - but she can’t win IMHO) he’d have a pow wow with Obama. Form an alliance, public or otherwise - and take this country by storm. I’d bet my right arm these two guys could sew up the White House for the next 16 years, and we’ll need that much time. Because Bush has this county almost FUBAR

Clark has broad appeal - he’ll gain support from every constituency.

In the 2004 race, Clark had a tremendous uphill climb to make in a very short time just before the Democratic Party jumped on the John Kerry bandwagon. Back then, it wasn’t unusual to meet Democrats who’d never heard of Clark, Democrats who figured he was a conservative because he was a General, and Democrats who mistakenly thought he was a Republican. In spite of all that, and his late entry without any staff, Clark won the Oklahoma primary and was 2nd to Kerry in three others.

This time around, Clark is known to be a progressive Democrat, and much more than simply another retired General. In the Presidential election, Clark can run effectively in all 50 states. If Clark chooses to run, he’ll be on the ticket; and likely at the top.

Obama certainly has great appeal right now. I hope he is able to retain it and develop into a leader who deserves to become President some day. Maybe Wes Clark can help him to do that.

Dang. I knew I liked Arkansas. You people are brilliant. I totally agree a Clark/Obama ticket would take us into 2024 with the leadership this country so desperately needs!

Hey y’all…..I’m down with the idea of a Clark / Obama ticket, too. Now all we have to do is make sure General Clark decides to run!

When I met Wesley Clark on Aug. 15 in Reno at a fundraiser for Jill Derby, I told him I had fought at Iwo Jima and hoped he’d run for president. I meant that. We were once a great nation, but no longer. I will never forget the words Rabbi Gittlesohn spoke at the 5th Division Cemetery dedication on Iwo. (I was in the 4th and already off the island, but I heard the chaplain repeat them in Washington at the 50th anniversary of the battle). They are a clarion call for progressive leadership that we haven’t seen for a long time. I would be glad to send them on request.

I have been a Clarkie since 03′. I have also liked Obama since his speech at the Dem convention.

A unified ticket would be a change from the norm and get a LOT of MSM attention. I find myself quite supporive of the idea of a Clark/Obama ticket.

A Clark-Obama ticket would be the strongest, most viable ticket Demos could launch. This means DLC won’t let it happen. Get rid of DLC and get some winners. It’a about 6 years too late for DLC to be worrying about just who a ticket might offend.
