JB Hunt - “Keep on Trucking
I’ve been one of the lucky ones who had a chance to sit down with JB and talk business, real estate, building, and lastly politics. One of the things I enjoyed most in visiting with him was his giddiness and pride when he started talking about the growth in NWA. He truly was the father of the NWA 540 Corridor growth. There was no having to read JB, he told it like it was and expected the same from you, very refreshing these days. Here is a much better tribute to the big man than I could write. Keep on Trucking.Â
For all his impact on his home state, Mr. Hunt stayed in touch with his rural roots. He described himself and his wife as just folks, and was most comfortable in cowboy boots and hat. He once said that if he had to do it all over again, he’d get an education, though he was proof that a formal education isn’t required to be financially successful.
J. B. Hunt used that success to make a positive difference in Arkansas for so many of us. As giants go, they don’t get any bigger than that.
