Proposal to change early voting on committee’s agenda
Well dah! This was a major complaint by the Democrats in Benton County when they had four “counts”, pointed out rather strongly to the Benton County Election Commission and County Clerk. Here’s the deal - if you’re a pretty smart fellow, party or candidate operative, you can vote twice if you voted after Wednesday in Benton County. They close their books on Wednesday - just vote Thru, Fri or Sat and walk in on Tuesday Election Day and vote again. No one is the wiser since the ballots are not tied to the voter ID and the election sheriff in your precinct has no idea that you voted early, because the clerk assembled here precinct logbook before you voted. Why this is, a red flag now seems strange. Anybody with a brain could have seen the abuse this little glitz could cause and many have been complaining loudly for sometime about it.
Ending the early voting period at 6 p.m. on the Friday before the election - eliminating early voting on the Saturday and Monday before the election - was one of several possible changes to state election laws discussed Wednesday by the Pulaski County Election Commission. Several Little Rock-area legislators attended the meeting. “There is a very legitimate reason why it needs to be (changed),” Sen. Mary Anne Salmon, D-North Little Rock, said. “I think they brought up a lot of great ideas, especially from a county that in the past had some troubles; for them to be proactive, I think that’s great,” said Rep. Jeff Wood, D-Sherwood.

Either these people are too stupid to solve a very solvable problem, or they just want to shed some of their work load.
We need to keep early voting til Monday and get rid of these incompetent people in charge of voting.
