Vice President Mike Huckabee
VP Huckabee? - Northwest Arkansas Times - Lucas RoebuckÂ
When you move out of state, you lose touch with Arkansas politics, and it was bound to happen to Lucas Roebuck. Here’s why Huckabee will not win Arkansas or be the next Vice President of the United States.Huckabee cannot win Arkansas, or Massachusetts not matter who the Democratic nominee is. A recent Gallup poll had Arkansan’s identifying themselves as Democratic 60/40. In national politics, Arkansas ain’t red no more. Of course, if you originally hailed from NWA, you might be delusional enough to believe that the state is Republican, it’s not, it’s solidly Democratic. Mike Beebe proved that when he took Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas Republican Party too the woodshed last November. There are 75 counties in Arkansas, not just three.
For the last 10 ½ years, the thin skinned, pouting, tax raising, give me…give me Governor Mike Huckabee will have to travel the minefield of the main stream media. His back and forth with the Arkansas press over the last week concerning destroyed disk drives is proof positive he’s not ready for prime time.
I will admit, he is personable and he’s got that good old American “aw shucks” demeanor. So did George W. Bush, and I guarantee Roebuck and anybody else in the country that America will not go to the polls and vote for any Republican that remotely resembles the characteristics that Bush brought to his “winning” campaign. I’ll go even farther here, the candidate that the religious right/conservative leadership gets behind, will be a casualty, thrown under the bus by millions of good Christians who now know they were used like two-dollar whores to bring Bush to power. And what did it get them? Nothing.
Then there is Wayne DuMond. There’s an old saying out there; shame on you once, shame on me twice. The Swift boater’s taught the Democratic leadership a valuable lesson in ’04. And if Huckabee gets any traction, Howard Dean will “Willie Horton” Huckabee. There is no explaining the letter or the influence Huckabee brought down on the parole board to facilitate DuMond’s release. DuMond is already starting to rot around Huckabee’s neck, when the main stream media really starts their digging and questioning, DuMond is going to sink up the room.
