Big Five: The GOP Frontrunners
This is fun -Â Â A roundup of opinions in today’s Los Angles Times, New York Times, Washington Post, Wall Street Journal and USA Today:
Republicans’ Values: USA Today argues that because of Mitt Romney’s, John McCain’s and Rudy Giuliani’s flip flops on social issues, voters should be skeptical of the Republican frontrunners’ “core values” … considering Mitt Romney’s shifting positions, WaPo columnist Richard Cohen labels the candidate’s campaign “a craven crawl to the White House“: “I don’t know whether [Romney] has any respect for himself,” Cohn writes, “but he sure as hell has none for us” … former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm (R-Tx) makes the case for John McCain in the WSJ: “He might not be the right president for all times, but he is the right president for these times.”
