Did so…did not…did so…did not
It’s been a bad week for Cheney. First Pelosi calling him out on his comments about the escalation and then McCain’s criticizm of Rumsfeld and the administration. Cheney says McCain apolgized for his comments, McCain says he’s standing by his what he said. Some one is lyig; eithe the Vice President of the United States or the man who wants to be the President of the United States. Not very comforting.
Cheney at odds with McCain over Rumsfeld Â
WASHINGTON - Vice President  Dick Cheney on Wednesday challenged GOP presidential hopeful John McCain (news, bio, voting record)’s assertion that Donald H. Rumsfeld was one of the country’s worst defense secretaries.
“John’s entitled to his opinion. I just think he’s wrong,” said Cheney, a friend of Rumsfeld. He also disclosed that the Arizona senator had apologized to him for a previous comment that the vice president had “badly served”  President Bush on  Iraq.“John said some nasty things about me the other day, and then next time he saw me, ran over to me and apologized. Maybe he’ll apologize to Rumsfeld,” Cheney said in an interview with ABC News.
At a campaign event in Los Angeles, McCain said he stood by his remarks about Rumsfeld. He did not mention the vice president, and his campaign declined to comment on Cheney’s remarks
