For God’s Sake
Almost three decades of planning, infiltrating and interjecting the ‘Religious Rights” message and bigotry into the political fabric of our country and what has it got them? George W. Bush. Despite the Rights huge financial support, it’s boots on the ground armies, Bush hasn’t given them one thing. Rove v Wade over turned - NO - Amendment banning gay marriage - NO - Prayer in Schools - NO. What “they’ve” gotten is the real danger that Right and religion in general may well be blamed as the catalist for what surely is to come; the disgrace and crimminality of the Bush Administration. Paul Krugman at the WAPO has some thoughts on Church and State and what tangled webs the Right has weaved and the culpabilty of the Pat Roberts of the movement.

Sad to say, but those who would merge church and state put the church first on the list of those to blame when things go south.
Remember all those pre-invasion (Iraq) sermons on “Why this war is justified” from republican pulpits?
