Mike Beebe? “I think he’s got a chance to be the best governor since Faubus.” I said, “Faubus!” He said, “Don’t start with that. How’re those Little Rock schools working out, anyway?”

George W. Bush? “He’s got a chance to be the worst president since your boy Bill.”

War in Iraq: “Them people over there don’t know peace or even particularly want it. Bring our boys home - girls, too, I guess.”

Hillary Clinton? “If she gets in there, I’ll be movin’ a whole lot further than Memphis.”

Gay foster parents? “They couldn’t have done any worse with Junior than I did.”

Speaking of East Arkansas car dealers, what about ol’ Benny Petrus from over at Stuttgart? “If that rascal can be speaker of the House, I can be Chief Justice Earl Warren.”

I told Bubba that Justice Warren had been gone for decades.
