Rove Linked to Prosecution of Ex-Alabama Governor
Although throwing 9 US Attorney’s to the curb to put in political hit men was bad enough, I’ve always contended that the bigger picture may be what were the other 84 doing to maintain “favored status”. With Rove’s obsession with voter fraud and democratic turn-out it doesn’t take a PHD to figure out that Rove had 93 USA offices and the DOJ under his thumb to do his dirty work and the use of political retitribution would hardly be a stretch. Here’s a stark example.

In the rough and tumble of Alabama politics, the scramble for power is often a blood sport. At the moment, the state’s former Democratic governor, Don Siegelman, stands convicted of bribery and conspiracy charges and faces a sentence of up to 30 years in prison. Siegelman has long claimed that his prosecution was driven by politically motivated, Republican-appointed U.S. attorneys.
