Griffin’s Woes Are Largely Self-Inflicted
Tim Griffin, an Arkansas native who has done well in his chosen profession — politics — made a teary-eyed speech last week as he lamented the personal cost of public service. Seems he felt abused and vilified during his brief tenure as U.S. Attorney of the Eastern District of Arkansas because Democrats (and some Republicans) criticized him, his background and the circumstances by which he gained the job.
Griffin said it’s too bad that people who offer themselves for public service have to be treated so shabbily. This from a guy who made his bones in the business of politics by doing “opposition research.” That’s a euphemism for digging up dirt on your political adversaries and figuring out how to use it to your advantage.
Karma, she’s … nothing if not consistent.
